Ruth Rosenberg Andres (February 17, 1929 - April 7, 2023)

Ruth was a force of nature her entire life and was passionate about family, art, music, travel, politics, social justice, and women’s rights. Ruth was a consummate teacher and mentor to many. As much as she loved teaching, she also loved being a student. At 92 she learned to play the ukulele right here at Goldmark from, Marty Ray, co-founder, and ceramic artist.

Ruth collected not only art but artists too and loved sharing the stories behind every piece in her collection. Supporting emerging artists was a lifelong passion of hers. She would be touched that this gallery provides exhibition opportunities to Goldmark artists.

Ruth understood art transcended differences, cultures, and generations. She lived every day of her 94 years to the fullest and truly “never met a stranger.” She stood up and spoke out for what was right and just. Her adoring family and countless friends miss her dearly, especially those at Goldmark.
