How to submit exhibition proposals to the Norman Brown Gallery at the Goldmark Cultural Center.
Exhibitions are selected by a Gallery Committee consisting of artists who will review proposals and plan yearly schedules. Committee members may assist with installation, receptions and PR.
Before suggesting an exhibit, visit the Goldmark Cultural Center and Norman Brown Gallery at 14001 Goldmark Drive, Dallas, Texas 75240.
Proposals may be for group shows, theme shows, or one or two person exhibits.
Curators, teachers and artists are welcome to propose ideas for an exhibit.
An Exhibition proposal should include:
1. Cover letter with: exhibition idea/title, artists included, possible demos or talks to accompany the exhibition, expected number of works (2D and 3D).
2. Please include the Exhibition Coordinator’s name, address and all contact information.
3. Current resume of Exhibition Coordinator.
4. Artist’s statement or Exhibition statement.
5. Digital files of related art – 5 to 10 images (JPG files 72 dpi).
6. Information sheet with artist name, title, dimensions and media for each art image submitted.
7. Website(s) for artist(s) if available.

Proposals will be reviewed every two to three months; exhibitions are scheduled one to two years out. All media is considered.

About the Gallery
The Norman Brown Gallery is approx. 720 sq. ft. For 3D work, display tables are available and some sculpture stands. Wall space near the gallery may also be used if necessary.
Insurance of art on display will be the sole responsibility of the artists.

Sales of Artwork
Sales are permitted and the exhibition coordinator may prepare a price list to be available to the public. Sales are the responsibility of the artists. A 30% commission is payable to Spring Leaf Corporation.
Individuals or organizations engaging in the sale of artwork are responsible to report all sales and submit the proper tax amounts to the State Tax Comptroller.
If selected to have an exhibition, participating artists in the Norman Brown Gallery will sign a contract agreement that states dates and responsibilities, sales percentage fees, insurance information and other exhibition details at least 2 months in advance of installing the exhibition.
