The Goldmark Cultural Center’s Ruth Andres Gallery is proud to present “Pulse”, a solo exhibition of new paintings by Goldmark artist Peter Timinsky.

The exhibition is on display from 8/19 to 9/1, with a closing reception on Saturday 8/31 from 1pm-3pm.

About the Exhibition

Pulse is a solo exhibition by Peter Timinsky that features five paintings from his ongoing body of work, Split. The works on view are the artist's most intensive exploration of human bond, separation and the additions that follow these interactions. Since Timinsky began making these Split paintings in 2022, they have reached an expansive scale with each painting inviting viewers to reflect on one's relationship with not only their peers, but themselves as well. While the format of the work has changed, the overall message remains quite similar. As the mark making becomes more aggressive on one side; the solid colored side grows to a more peaceful state: adding balance to the work, but showing visual progression as well. The scraped side of these works are a hat tip to the world around us: the wrong doings we all tend to share and the guilt towards our mistakes. Pulse is a reflection of one's successes and failures within relationships and gives viewers the space to feel what it truly means to be human. 

About the Artist

The precise, yet free use of color that dominates the paintings of Peter Timinsky's latest work is something to carefully look at. The color palettes and use of texture take a great inspiration from human relationships, recalled memories, raw emotion, the past, present & the future. Timinsky's work is concerned with figuring out color theory and the innovation of form regarding shape and scale. 

Underneath the work is a whole world that is informed by a range of experiences through his past life. Growing up as a gentle and quiet child, Timinsky often had time to reflect on his feelings towards certain subject matters. From a young age he realized that self expression was important, yet didn't know how to do it himself. Painting, more specifically color, has allowed Timinsky to channel his inner thoughts and voice to a new self standard which is constantly evolving.

Peter Timinsky (b. 1999) is a self taught fine artist who produces paintings and drawings. Timinsky currently resides and works near Dallas, TX.
