Former Goldmark resident-artist Troy Medinis will be conducting a canvas stretching demo at the Goldmark Cultural Center on Thursday, 3/25 and again on Saturday, 3/27. The demo will be held in the outdoor courtyard area between the two buildings (in the event of bad weather, the demo will be held in the indoor auditorium space in Building 14001). The demo will begin at 12pm on both days and will end around 12:30pm - 1pm.

In this demonstration Troy will be showing how to properly stretch a canvas onto a stretcher by hand. Troy will then talk briefly about how to gesso and prepare the surface for painting. Troy will be selling stretchers and canvas for 30$ or just a stretcher for 25$. (16.5" x 20"). Please make sure to bring your own staple gun as they will not be provided. Feel free to bring your own supplies to follow along: you will need a stretcher, enough canvas to cover the front and fold onto the back and a staple gun.
