The Goldmark Cultural Center is proud to present “CoolFire”, a pop-up exhibition featuring mixed media paintings by Goldmark artist Chris Boughton. “CoolFire” is on display in the Goldmark Artists’ Showcase from 19 October 2022 to 4 November 2022, with an exhibition reception on Saturday, 29 October 2022 from 1.00 - 3.00pm. Chris will be present at the reception to respond to questions and comments about his work.

About the Exhibition
Chris Boughton’s work in “Cool Fire” is energized by bright colors and fast moving lines. Normally Boughton prefers to go on long walks for visual inspiration, but he had to rely exclusively on images of nature found on the internet, in his imagination, and at work for this exhibition. The craziness at work and vibrant images he was looking at online brought him to creating high energy and almost floral like imagery.

About the Artist
Chris Boughton is an artist based out of Dallas, Texas. He has a Masters of Fine Arts (MFA) in Sculpture and a Bachelors of Fine Arts (BFA) in Drawing and Painting. After Boughton graduated with his BFA he became Mike Cunningham’s apprentice before going back to school for his MFA. Cunningham is a sculptor that works as a stone carver and woodworker. Boughton’s work is often inspired by nature.
