Join us at the Goldmark Cultural Center from 1:00pm - 2:00pm on Thursday, 5/19, or Saturday, 5/21, for another presentation in our monthly Artist Talk & Tour series.

The featured Goldmark artist for May is Kirk Sisco.

As part of the presentation, Kirk will be painting a landscape scene with oils to demonstrate many of the tips and techniques he has learned during his career. Kirk will explain how to use a grid to block out a painting's composition and how working with shapes, light and shadow can produce better results than a direct rendering of the intended subject. Kirk hopes his presentation will convey the value and effectiveness of working with speed and economy when painting with oils.

The presentation will be held in the auditorium space at 14001 Goldmark Dr, Dallas TX, 75240, and it will conclude with a visit to Kirk's studio space at the Goldmark Cultural Center.

About the Artist
Kirk Sisco began working as a professional artist in 1975 as a fashion illustrator, then later moving on to positions as art director for a couple of advertising agencies in Houston, TX. A major career detour interrupted when, beginning in 1979, Kirk spent the next 35 or so years appearing in TV commercials, doing voice overs, episodic TV and the occasional movie. Very happily returning to the solitary life inside an artist's studio, he's fulfilling a longtime goal to be a capable oil painter.
