The Goldmark Cultural Center is proud to present "Point of Origin", a pop-up exhibition featuring a selection of oil paintings by Goldmark artist Lydia Yost.

This exhibition is on display in the Goldmark Artists' Showcase through July 3, 2022, with an exhibition reception on Saturday, July 2, 2022 from 1.00 - 3.00pm at 13999 Goldmark Dr, Dallas TX 75240. Lydia will be present at the reception to respond to any questions or comments about her artwork.

About the Exhibition
Lydia painted these works with the intention to challenge herself and to gain an understanding of a subject that she found eerily simple yet oddly perplexing. Fire is a complex subject in terms of emotion, meaning, and technique. It can portray intense devastation or loss. It can also be seen as a cleansing and rebirth. When Lydia began to paint fire, something in her soul ruptured and she was struck with a wave of inspiration; she has yet to turn back.

About the Artist
In 2019, Lydia purchased her first set of oil paints. She found an abundance of joy, peace, and healing within the creative process. Previously, drawing with pencil and paper had a similar allure for her. However, painting magnified this experience and it became a part of her.
