Finding Arts Funding
Learn more about the resources available to artists, and get some grant writing tips at this informative workshop presented by Dallas’ Office of Arts & Culture. Glenn Ayars and Jayne Suhler will be present to address your questions and concerns, providing attendees with a good starting point for the next grant application cycle. Admission is free, but you are encouraged to bring your own lunch.
Glenn Ayars
Glenn Ayars is the Cultural Programs Manager for Dallas’ Office of Arts & Culture, overseeing nearly $7 million in support for artists, arts groups, and cultural organizations. Glenn and his division help implement the city’s Cultural Plan, and provide artists and organizations with resources and funding for various arts and culture projects.
Glenn is a native of Corpus Christi and holds a bachelor’s degree from Southern Methodist University and a master’s from the University of Southern California. An artist himself, Glenn has worked in higher education and student affairs, in the non-profit arts sector, and as a small business owner providing music instruction to students.
Jayne Suhler
Jayne Suhler is a member of the Dallas Arts & Culture Advisory Commission, which serves as an advisory body to the city manager and city council. A resident of District 11, Jayne was appointed to the commission by Councilman Lee Kleinman.
Jayne holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Texas at Austin. She is a former reporter, including with The Dallas Morning News, where she specialized in higher education coverage. She has been a faculty member in the Division of Journalism at Southern Methodist University since 2001.
