About the demo
In this screen printing demo we will begin by looking at prints that emphasize the many possibilities of screen printing. We will then go over the process of how to prepare a screen. We will print out paper stencils and make them translucent in order to burn our image onto a screen. We will then go through the process of printing the screen in order to create an edition

About Familia Printshop
Familia Printshop is a collaborative space created by Ben Munoz and Hugo Ivan Juarez in partnership with the Goldmark Cultural Center. The shop is fully equipped to work in screen printing, relief, monotype, and alternative processes. The idea of the shop was to combine forces and to open up knowledge to members of Goldmark, the people of Dallas, and beyond. We do this traditionally by taking memberships and publishing prints. We push the boundaries of contemporary printmaking by hosting micro-residencies, collaborative residencies, and takeovers. Currently we are building up our archive, collection and stock to further support the mission of Familia.
